  • I Need More Jesus!

    I Need More Jesus

    (This statement does not refer to losing Jesus or making less of Him, but a prerequisite to current state of growth.)

    As we Grow in Christ, Change becomes as natural as breathing, but the way we change depends on how we see reality.

    Change and Reality are defined in so many different ways but these are the closest definitions I could find.

    Change - a substitution of one thing for another

    Reality - the world of things as they actually exist.

    We are all looking for Change in our Reality, wither its in our past, our present, or our future.

    So many things happen in our daily lives that it takes it toll on us. We live in a world were people can’t be satisfied any more, everyone is looking for more to fill the scars.

    But, Jesus wants to show how to live with ourselves.

    Jesus wants to be real with us, but so does Sin.

    Sin is just our current state in this life we live. And Sin wants to stay our current reality, Jesus wants to be our Only reality.

    When Jesus was murdered by us for our sin, He distorted our reality and broke our mold.

    Sin was defeated and Jesus was left standing, He became Reality for us. As Christian, Jesus has become Lord (Ruler) and Savior (He saved us).

    As Grace (God’s gift to us) changed us from Sinner to Saint, so does God change our daily reality. We just need to cry out to Him.

    I - declaring self
    Need - acknowledging requirement
    More - requiring a greater extent
    Jesus - Saving Reality

    As we grow in Christ, we learn that words are important to God.

    Words have the power to change a sentence, sentence structure is a big part of the bible.

    Words in a statement, song or how we speak can unravel a lot about our reality.

    In this Hymn, we see word choice can explain our personal reality,

    I need Thee every hour,
    Most gracious Lord;
    No tender voice like Thine
    Can peace afford.
    I need Thee, oh, I need Thee;
    Every hour I need Thee;
    Oh, bless me now, my Savior!
    I come to Thee.
    I need Thee every hour,
    Stay Thou near by;
    Temptations lose their power
    When Thou art nigh.
    I need Thee every hour,
    In joy or pain;
    Come quickly and abide,
    Or life is vain.
    I need Thee every hour,
    Teach me Thy will;
    And Thy rich promises
    In me fulfill.
    I need Thee every hour,
    Most Holy One;
    Oh, make me Thine indeed,
    Thou blessed Son.

    If our Focus is Jesus, our Change is possible.

    We need to take the most important step to bending our reality - Surrender.

    Change all depends on Surrender, if we don’t surrender we Don’t Change.

    Jesus calls us to choose to surrender daily.

    For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. - Romans 5:6

    Let Jesus be the Change, let Jesus be Reality.
